RAYMOND S. IWAMOTO practices as a business and transactional lawyer, handling complex real estate and business transactions throughout his career, and has developed significant experience in resort, residential and commercial developments, acquisitions, operations, sales and real estate financing. His real property expertise was recognized by his selection for membership in the prestigious American College of Real Estate Lawyers, and in 2010, he became a member of the College's Board of Governors. He is also listed in the International Who’s Who of Real Estate Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America and in Chambers USA America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. He represents developers, land owners, financial institutions and individuals from Hawaii and from the Continental USA, Australia, Hong Kong and Japan.  He has considerable experience in assisting American and foreign businesses establish themselves in and operate in Hawaii. These have involved assisting with a diverse range of businesses, including a nationally prominent department store chain, national hotel chains, bio diesel operators, American Indian tribe, Italian shoe maker, banks, petroleum companies, ambulance companies, data processing companies, big box retailers and numerous others.

Mr. Iwamoto was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and graduated from McKinley High School. He is a former U.S. Army Captain, Medical Service Corps., a Viet Nam war veteran and a former State Judge Advocate General for the Hawaii Army National Guard.
